Chief Programmes Officer (TV Programme Scheduler & Content Acquisition -D1) Ministry of Youth Empowerment, Sport and Culture Development

Purpose of the Job

  • To plan, organize, direct and coordinate the operations of a Youth Television Channel (Btv2)

Key Performance Areas:

  • Coordinates development of strategies for programme content development
  • Advices on the latest technology and acquisition thereof
  • Develops and monitors the implementation of editorial and operational guidelines to ensure compliance
  • Develops and establishes standards for effective job performance
  • Creates and delivers accurate broadcast schedules for linear broadcast services and linear streaming channels to tight transmission timelines
  • Inputs schedulens into databases and ensures any necessary changes are made and communicated to relevant structures internally and externally
  • Recommends and justifies content selection for new and existing content propositions
  • Generates draft content schedules for new content service from initial brief from Management
  • Takes overall responsibility for Channel Transmission and facilitates required for broadcast
  • Maintains high technical and aesthetic on screen quality

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Broadcast Communications, Film and Television Production, Mass Communications or related field. Masters Degree will be an added advantage

Experience:

  • A minimum of twelve years relevant post qualification experience two of which should have been served at the level of D2 in the Public Service or equivalent level in a Parastatal or Private Sector Organization

Benefits

  • Contributory Pension Fund (Government pays 15% Employee pays 5%)

Salary Scale D1 (P285,444 - P315, 144) per annum

Leave: 30 working days per annum
