Financial Manager

Job description

  • Liaise with strategic customers to ensure client expectations and services levels are been met with regard to billing, etc.
  • Address clients requirements and changes on ordering, invoicing, reporting and payment
  • Manage debtor account reconciliation process
  • Develop and manage the sales budget by accurately forecasting annual, quarterly and monthly revenue pipeline
  • Compilation of Management reports and Annual Financial Statements
  • Ensure company compliance with accounting and tax legislation e.g. IFRS, Tax Return, etc.
  • Co-ordinate year end and interim audit
  • Submission of regulatory information and statutory returns
  • Manage Cost of Sales budget and Opex
  • Manage budget process, cash flow, debtors process, creditors and cash book process, fixed asset register, forex and foreign expenditure
  • Implement and monitor approvals frame work compliance
  • Risk management – ensure internal controls and financial process in place
  • Ensure that the company is adequately covered against all risk by deploying insurance smooth process in placed
  • Defining departmental outcomes and ensuring that departmental staff understands expectations
  • Continued management of staff to ensure outcomes are achieved
  • Support HR to recruits, develops and retains people with outstanding skills, qualifications and potential
  • Development of Key Performance Areas (KPA) and Key Performance Indicators (KPI)
  • Monitors overall performance and helps direct reports overcome gaps
  • Acts as main conduit to direct superior on performance
  • Motivate and development of staff to ensure that productivity is at an optimum level
  • Build a performance management framework around the company and corporate customer requirements including the identification and development of competencies
  • Develop a people road map to the future ensuring a leadership and capability pipeline by supporting succession management
  • Ensure staff are adequately trained in terms of new legislation
  • Provide financial guidance and share expertise with staff
  • Perform HR Duties in support of the Group HR Partner – Learning & Development, Organisational Design, Recruitment and Selection, COS Management


  • BSc or equivalent in finance field
  • CA/CFA or at least B.Com Honors with Articles at leading auditing firm
  • 3 years financial management experience
  • Experience in implementation of financial policies and procedures
  • Experience in business planning and budgeting processes
  • Financial modeling experience
  • Knowledge of the telecommunications environment
  • Familiar with financial statement components
  • Best practice financial policies and procedures
  • Understanding of marketing practices
  • Budgeting
